Wedding photo shot list for the whole day

A full wedding day brings hundreds of moments, and your photographer cannot be everywhere at once. A shot list makes sure the pictures that matter most to you are not left to chance: the family photos your grandparents are hoping for, the details you spent months choosing, the first dance.

This list follows the day from the details in the morning to the party at night, sorted into categories and marked as must-have or nice-to-have. Open it in the free shot list tool, remove what doesn’t fit, add names to the group photos and send it to your photographer.

Tips for this template

Choose your must-haves

Mark no more than 15 to 20 shots as must-haves. A list of 100 equally important photos turns your photographer into a box-ticker instead of a storyteller.

Share the list early

Send the list to your photographer a week before the wedding and go through it together. That way they know which groups and moments matter most to you.

Plan family photos with names

Write the groups down with names and sort them from the biggest group to the smallest. Then family photos take 20 minutes instead of 45.

Leave room for spontaneous moments

The best photos are often not on any list. Plan some buffer so your photographer can catch what nobody planned.

Collect your guests’ photos

Guests see moments the photographer misses — the dance floor at 1 a.m., the kids’ table. A QR code on the tables brings all their photos into one gallery.
