Frequently Asked Questions
1Does it work without internet connection?
You need an internet connection to upload photos, but most vacation destinations have Wi-Fi. Photos can be uploaded whenever you have connectivity — they don't have to be uploaded in real time.
2How many photos can we upload?
There is no limit on the number of photos. Upload as many as your group takes — thousands of photos from a multi-week trip are no problem.
3Do travelers need to download an app?
No! Photogala works entirely in the browser. Travelers just scan the QR code or click the link, and they can start uploading immediately. No app, no account needed.
4Can we use it for a multi-day trip?
Absolutely. Your gallery stays active for the entire duration of your trip and beyond. Upload photos day by day, and download everything when you're back home.
5How does the GPS photo map work?
When guests upload photos taken with location services enabled, Photogala automatically reads the GPS coordinates from the image metadata and places them on an interactive map.
6Is it free?
There is a free plan plus three paid plans — Plus, Premium and Deluxe. Features like GPS maps and face recognition sit in the higher plans. Current prices are further down the page.
7Can I download all photos at once?
Yes! One click downloads every photo and video in full original quality as a ZIP file. No quality loss, no compression.
8How long do photos stay in the gallery?
Your gallery and all photos stay accessible for your plan's storage period. Download everything as a ZIP at any time during that window — so your trip photos are yours to keep forever.
