Ball Season

The whole ball in one gallery — not just what the photographer saw

The ball photographer takes the portraits at the entrance. The midnight performance, the packed dance floor and the tables at 2 a.m. are photographed by the guests. A QR code on the place card collects those photos in one place — no app, and live on the screen in the foyer.

Guest gallery and ball photographer — who delivers what

A ball with 800 guests. What one person with a camera captures, and what eight hundred phones capture.

Angles
Photogala: as many as there are guests — dance floor, bar, tables, cloakroom
Ball photographer only: one person who cannot be everywhere at once
When the photos arrive
Photogala: during the ball, live on the big screen
Ball photographer only: usually days or weeks later, after editing
Portraits at the entrance
Photogala: phone photos — as good as the phone and the light
Ball photographer only: lit, professional portraits. The photographer wins here.
For the guests
Photogala: everyone sees every photo, no ordering
Ball photographer only: prints and files often paid for individually or as a package
On the big screen
Photogala: live photo wall in the foyer or above the dance floor
Ball photographer only: nothing — the photos come after the ball
Effort for the committee
Photogala: set up the gallery, print the QR code on the place cards
Ball photographer only: briefing, schedule, agreeing on the photo selection

What the ball photographer does better

Portraits. The lit couple photo in front of the backdrop that ends up framed in someone's living room is beyond any phone — and at many balls it is the most important picture of the night. That is why Photogala does not replace the photographer. It collects what a single person cannot see: the dance floor, the midnight performance from every corner of the hall, the tables, the hour after two.

How it runs on the night of the ball

Real recordings from a live gallery — not mockups.

The photo wall in the foyer

Every new photo appears on the screen within seconds. Whoever comes off the dance floor sees themselves on the wall — and adds their own photos. That way the gallery keeps filling up all night, not just in the first hour.

QR code on the place card, photo in the browser

No app, no account. The code on the place card or the ticket opens the gallery straight in the browser — even for guests who would never install an app for a single evening.

Photo challenges for the night of the ball

“A photo with your teachers”, “your table after the midnight performance”, “the most elegant waltz of the night” — small challenges turn guests into photographers. Points and a leaderboard keep the gallery moving into the early hours.

The committee decides what reaches the big screen

In front of parents, teachers and guests of honour, nobody wants a surprise. An automatic filter holds back anything inappropriate, and if you want, a committee member approves every photo before it is published — from their phone, right in the ballroom.

After the ball: everything as a ZIP

The complete gallery in full resolution — for the aftermovie, the yearbook or simply as a keepsake for everyone who was there.

Ball photos — common questions

Do guests need an app?
No. The QR code opens the gallery in the phone browser. No download, no account, no sign-up — at balls with guests aged 16 to 86, that is exactly why everyone joins in.
Does this replace the ball photographer?
No, and it is not meant to. Professional portraits and edited photos remain the photographer's job. The guest gallery adds everything one person cannot see at the same time — and delivers it during the ball instead of weeks later.
We are expecting several hundred guests — does that work?
Yes. Uploads run over the guests' phones, mostly on their mobile data — eight hundred phones are not sharing one line. Only the display device for the photo wall needs a stable connection. In halls with poor reception, guest Wi-Fi helps. What each plan includes is listed on the cards below.
Can we keep inappropriate photos off the big screen?
Yes. An automatic filter blocks explicit shots, and optionally every picture waits for approval before it shows up in the gallery or on the screen. You can share approval among several committee members, each from their own phone.
When should we set up the gallery?
At the latest before the place cards or tickets go to print: the QR code does not change after that. So you can set up the gallery weeks in advance and get everything ready at your own pace.
How long do the photos stay available?
Between three months and several years, depending on the plan; the storage period is printed on every card. You can download at any time and as often as you like — once it is on your drive it no longer depends on us.
