A TV is enough, and a laptop on a high table by the entrance works surprisingly well. What does not work is bright sunlight on a white wall — outdoors in daylight the wall only earns its keep after dusk. And if there is no display at all: the gallery still collects everything, you just lose the pull.

Photo wall — common questions

What do we need technically?

A display with a browser and an internet connection: a beamer with a laptop, a smart TV or a tablet. The wall opens full screen and then runs on its own.

How fast does a photo appear?

Usually within a few seconds of the upload. With approval enabled it appears as soon as someone on your side has said yes.

Can we prevent embarrassing pictures?

Yes. The automatic filter blocks explicit shots, and manual approval can be switched on for the whole evening or only for certain hours.

Does the wall run unattended?

Yes, that is the normal case. Open it once and nobody has to click anything again. If you want, you can change speed, layout and brightness at any time.

What happens if the internet drops?

The wall keeps showing what it has already loaded and catches up on new pictures once the connection is back. Guest uploads run over their mobile data and are unaffected.

Can we run several walls at once?

Yes. You can open the photo wall on several devices — in the hall and in the foyer, for instance. Each display pulls the same photos, with nothing to set up twice.
