Face recognition & privacy

Some events offer face search so you can find your own photos more quickly. Here’s what’s behind it and how you decide for yourself whether to take part.

What face search does

Face search helps you find every photo you appear in – without scrolling through the whole gallery.

• You take a selfie once, or pick a photo of yourself.
• The gallery then shows you matching pictures where you were recognised.
• That saves you the tedious searching at large events.

How you can opt out

Taking part in face search is voluntary. The choice is yours.

• Simply don’t use the feature if you’d rather not.
• If you’d like to be removed from recognition, get in touch with the event’s host.
