My upload isn't working

When an upload stalls or stops, it’s almost always down to a weak connection – and it’s usually easy to fix. Here are the most common causes and what you can do about them.

At parties in particular, the Wi-Fi or mobile network is often overloaded. Don’t worry: the upload keeps running in the background and automatically resumes interrupted transfers as soon as the connection is back.

  • Keep the gallery open in the foreground while your photos upload.
  • If you run into trouble, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to use the more stable connection.
  • Move closer to the router or to a spot with better reception.

Very large files take longer, and a few unusual formats aren’t supported.

  • Common photo and video formats like JPG, PNG, HEIC and MP4 work reliably.
  • For very large videos, the upload can take a few minutes depending on your connection – give it some time.

Often a second attempt is all it takes:

  • Refresh the page and start the upload again.
  • Close other apps or tabs that are using up bandwidth.

You’ll find more about the process in the Uploading photos guide.
