My upload isn't working
When an upload stalls or stops, it’s almost always down to a weak connection – and it’s usually easy to fix. Here are the most common causes and what you can do about them.
Weak or unstable connection
Section titled “Weak or unstable connection”At parties in particular, the Wi-Fi or mobile network is often overloaded. Don’t worry: the upload keeps running in the background and automatically resumes interrupted transfers as soon as the connection is back.
- Keep the gallery open in the foreground while your photos upload.
- If you run into trouble, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to use the more stable connection.
- Move closer to the router or to a spot with better reception.
File size or format
Section titled “File size or format”Very large files take longer, and a few unusual formats aren’t supported.
- Common photo and video formats like JPG, PNG, HEIC and MP4 work reliably.
- For very large videos, the upload can take a few minutes depending on your connection – give it some time.
Just try again
Section titled “Just try again”Often a second attempt is all it takes:
- Refresh the page and start the upload again.
- Close other apps or tabs that are using up bandwidth.
You’ll find more about the process in the Uploading photos guide.
