Why do I only see my own menu?

That’s not a fault and not a shortened menu – it’s the personal view. It appears when the event has recognised you from your link.

The QR code on your place card carries a personal code. Open the event through it and the app knows which entry on the guest list belongs to you – and with it, which menu selection is on file for you. Usually that’s exactly what you picked when you replied.

In the menu, Photogala then shows only that one dish per course. Courses with no selection on file – a buffet where there was nothing to choose, for instance – stay fully visible.

Menu page of an event with the tool bar and the first course
① The Menu tile in the Event info & tools row leads to the menu page, ② where the first course sits, ③ with the first dish card below it. The personal-view banner only appears once your link has identified you.

Above the menu sits a note with a button next to it:

  • Personal view active: You are seeing your personal menu. The button reads Show all dishes.
  • After switching: Your menu selection is saved. The button now reads Show only my menu and takes you back.

Your browser remembers the choice for this event, so you don’t have to repeat it on every visit.

First check whether you accidentally scanned someone else’s card. If the menu shown can’t possibly be yours, tap Show all dishes and then scan your own card.

If your selection really is wrong:

  • With a personal RSVP link: open the reply form again, correct the menu selection and tap Send answer. Your previous answer is replaced.
  • Without a personal link: tell your host, who updates the guest list. Answering again through the generic QR code is the worse route here – it can create a second entry.

Then your session isn’t linked to any guest-list entry. Possible reasons: you arrived through the generic event link, your link carried no personal code, or there simply is no menu selection on file for you. In all three cases you see the full menu as normal.

The personal links are created on the host side — only someone opening such a link sees the banner.
